ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Businesses/Initiatives/Programs:
Businesses: Nominations are open to Black-owned and operated tourism-related businesses within the Richmond Region, which includes the City of Richmond, Chesterfield County, Colonial Heights, Hanover County, Henrico County, New Kent County, and the town of Ashland.
Initiatives: Nominations are open to initiatives demonstrating a commitment to promoting Black culture, heritage, and tourism in the Richmond Region. These initiatives may include cultural festivals, heritage tours, educational programs, and community outreach efforts that contribute to advancing and celebrating Black heritage and tourism.
Programs: Nominations are open to programs that have made significant contributions to promoting and preserving Black culture, heritage, and tourism in the Richmond Region. These programs may include educational workshops, community/arts programs, entertainment series, and other initiatives that engage the community and celebrate Black culture.
Individuals
Community Leaders: Individuals who have shown exceptional leadership and commitment to improving the Richmond community through one or more of the four BLK RVA pillars.
Community Influencers: Individuals who have a significant, positive impact on the community through social media, public speaking, activism, or other forms of influence.
